4+ Delicious Ways to Enjoy Your Corando Ham

4+ Delicious Ways to Enjoy Your Corando Ham

Whether it is an everyday dinner or a special event, Carando makes a terrific ham to enjoy.

No matter what flavor of Carando you buy, you are in for a good time. Carando ham is juicy, tender, and very flavorful.

Serve It Sliced

For those not looking to do anything fancy, serving your ham directly is the best way to enjoy your Carando ham. Rather than using the ham as a set piece for a mixture of ingredients, slicing your ham allows it to stand on its merit and be enjoyed directly.

Sliced ham is best served with a side dish or two, as most people don’t want to eat exclusively meat. Grilling vegetables or frying potatoes is a great way to include a wider array of flavors in your meal.

Grilled Cheese

Who doesn’t love a tasty grilled ham and cheese sandwich? As with any good sandwich, grilled cheese is made better with some meat between its bread.

Ham is very salty, so placing it inside a warm sandwich is an incredibly scrumptious combo.

I like this dish because it is really easy to understand and put into practice. Grilled cheese is as simple as frying cheese and bread inside a pan, just add some cooked Carando ham in there, and you’re good to go!

Casserole

Whether cooking a fresh Carando ham or utilizing some leftovers, a casserole is a terrific dish to incorporate your ham into.

The casserole is typically a mixture of ingredients baked in your oven and served warm. Most casserole recipes call for some sort of protein, so ham is a terrific option if you want some juicy red meat in their mix.

Fried Rice

Like making a casserole, ham is nice because it can be conveniently tossed there. Most fried rice or stir fries include some protein mixed in, and leftover ham is a perfect option for those looking to try something different.

I love rice as an option to pair with ham because it has the opportunity to soak up the juices. Sometimes hams can get juicy and ooze out their flavor, so rice helps to catch these liquids and keep the flavor from seeping out.

How to cook a Carando boneless ham?

Before looking at how to cook your Carando ham, check if it is precooked. Carando sells precooked hams that can be eaten cold and heated up.

While there are a few different ways to cook ham, the best method is to use a roasting pan. The goal is to cook your ham so that it is safe to eat and warm but not so much that it dries out and loses its juices.

Heat your oven to a toasty 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Then remove your ham from its package and place it inside your roasting pan. You will want your ham to be facing down on the flat side so that it can cook evenly.

Once your ham is in its pan, cover it with foil and let it bake in the oven for about 15 minutes per pound.

Whole hams typically weigh 10-15 pounds; they will take 2.5-3.75 hours, respectively.

While a whole ham is nice, most people would say they don’t need that much ham. As such, those opting for a half ham are looking at about 5-7 pounds and a 1.25 – 1.75 cook time accordingly.

Is a Carando boneless sliced ham already cooked?

Yes, Carando’s boneless sliced hams are already pre cooked and ready for eating. If you want to eat your ham cold, this is a perfect option to do so, but you may also heat your ham for a warmer option.

What is the best-precooked ham to buy?

There are a lot of different precooked hams on the market. While I think many of these options are viable, I find the best-precooked ham to buy is the Carando brown sugar & spice boneless sliced ham.

This ham is still a savory option, but it offers a unique blend of sweetness to help it stand apart from other hams. I find this meat makes for better sandwiches, as the bread will soak up some of the sweetness oozing from the ham.

How long does it take to cook Carando’s ham?

You will want to cook Carando’s ham for 15 minutes for every pound of meat. The heavier the meat, the more dense its contents are and the longer it will take to cook evenly.

Make sure to cook your ham at a low 275 degrees Fahrenheit. You will likely cook your Carando ham for at least an hour, and cooking it at a higher temperature may lead to burning.
